Exercise Cooperative Lancer PDF Print E-mail

The aim of Exercise Cooperative Lancer is to train, exercise and promote the interoperability of Partnership for Peace/Mediterranean Dialogue Partner forces using NATO standards set inside a Crisis Response Operations scenario through a Live Fire Exercise. Key tasks involve securing sensitive points and assuring a safe and secure environment with a focus on counter-terrorism operations to prevent the destabilization of a particular area.

In Simple Terms

During the first part of this exercise, participants undergo training over the course of several days that will allow them to deal with real-world scenarios when they are actually in the field.  Such classes include, but are not limited to, how to conduct patrols, how to handle improvised explosive devices, how to conduct searches, how to handle media, etc … The aim is to ensure everyone develops basic skills in these areas and a common understanding of the required procedures.  During the second part of the exercise, participants are expected to apply what they have learned as they are presented with fictitious scenarios by their training staff.Image
